Lesson #4: Start smaller

Okay, so maybe I was a little too ambitious with this blog thing.  One post a day?  Really?  I barely have the time to go to the bathroom some days.  (I'm sure you moms can relate.)  What made me think I could actually post every single day?

So my next lesson is to start smaller.  Rather than jumping into something with both feet, maybe I need to learn to inch my way in.  Sometimes I find that I get a little too excited about things and make all sorts of unrealistic promises to myself.  The result:  huge disappointment in myself.  For example, when I decide to paint, I buy paint for the whole house only to discover that by the time I get around to even touching it, my tastes in color have totally changed.  I don't check out 2 or 3 books at the library - nope.  59 books I have right now.  (Imagine my surprise when I saw the total of my overdue fines on 59 books - eek!)  Sound familiar?

Lesson #4:  Perhaps we wouldn't be so disappointed with ourselves if we started smaller on everything.

My first attempt:  starting smaller on this blog.  :)
